Łukasz's work has always revolved around the Polish language — but early on, he realised that teaching a language can mean something far bigger than running a classroom.

In 2011, he was sent by Poland's Ministry of Science and Higher Education to the Northern (Arctic) Federal University in Arkhangelsk, where he taught practical Polish alongside grammar, history and literature. At the request of the Polish Consulate General, he also began teaching Polish voluntarily to local residents at a regional library — a project that grew into something larger: a Polish Centre at the university, which he went on to direct.

Around the Centre, a community formed — students, academics and local residents drawn together by an interest in Poland, its language and its culture. His work expanded to translation seminars, teacher training, cultural events, and a student-led Polish translation of the tales of Stepan Pisakhov, later published with Łukasz as editor.

"Language teaching does not exist in isolation from culture, and culture does not exist in isolation from people."

The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in St Petersburg later described him as an "ideal lecturer and partner," praising his creativity, reliability and ability to work in a demanding international environment — recognition echoed by the academic community he worked within for three years.

He holds a Master's degree in Polish Philology and postgraduate qualifications in Teaching Polish as a Foreign Language from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, and speaks Polish, Russian, English and Czech.
